TestAccommodation.htm
The following is a copy of the Test Accommodation
Policy adopted by the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities.
- Students requesting test accommodations must meet the following guidelines:
- Have current documentation of your disability on file
with the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities.
- Take a letter verifying your disability to your professors.
At the time the letter is given to the professor, you should discuss what
type of test accommodation(s) you will need during the semester and how
those accommodations will take place.
- You must give at least 48 hours notice to Teresa Belluscio
(622 - 1500), Shirley Rivard (622 - 2937), or the Testing Office, Case
Room 202 (622 - 2933). When you call, you will be asked to provide the
following information:
- Name of class, course number, and scheduled meeting
times.
- Professor's name.
- What you are requesting - extra time, test on tape,
a reader, etc.
- Your telephone number.
- If you make a request less than 24 hours prior to the
test, the Disabilities Office may not be able to honor your request. We
will make reasonable attempts to obtain the test, but do not assume the
accommodation will be provided. The sooner you can inform the office the
better.
- If you can arrange to take a test outside the classroom
you are expected to start the test at the same time as the rest of the
class unless other arrangements have been made. If you are late, the office
will follow the policy of the professor. You may be denied the test or
a note may be sent back to the professor indicating that you started late.
- If you are not going to take a test that accommodation
arrangements have been made, you must call both your professor and the
office as soon as possible.
If you have questions regarding this policy, please
contact Teresa Belluscio or Shirley Rivard.
